Dania Ramirez Bio

Stardom found Dania Ramirez when she was approached by a modeling recruiter while working as security guard. She changed careers from security to model then actress after being cast by Spike Lee in 'Subway Stories.' After her first appearance on the big screen Ramirez was rewarded with feature roles in 'Fat Albert', 'X-Men' and 'The Stand.' Ramirez built a steady track record as an actress, which helped her land a role on the leading NBC series 'Heroes.'

2006: Starring in Heros


In the second season of 'Heroes' Daina character of Maya Herrera was added to the cast. Her character Maya posses the ability creates a fatal poison in anyone nearby. She is activates her superpower from turning  her eyes completely black and she cries "black tears." 

1999: Volleyball Champ


A volleyball standout at Montclair State University she lead her volleyball teammates placed among the top five in career digs, digs/game, solo blocks and total blocks.

1997: Spike Lee - Casting Audition
