Grammy Award winning singer Shakira, who is known for her building schools through her organization in Columbia, has been named Ambassador for an international campaign to ensure every child has the right to education.

Dubbed 1GOAL, the campaign calls on country leaders to ensure that all children have access to primary education. 1GOAL is partly a campaign led and co-founded by Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan and supported by FIFA and world football community.

Shakira, who is a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF and founder and President of the Fundación Pies Descalzos, will be speaking for the 72 million children worldwide who lack access to quality education. As a leading advocate of early childhood education, Shakira has persuaded world leaders about the importance of education in various events such as the Iberoamerican Summit and the United Nations.

“World Cup captures the attention and hearts of millions. We must use this moment to raise our voices and ask 1GOAL this generation of children has the opportunity to fulfill their dreams and reach their maximum potential through education,” Shakira said. “It is an honor to be part of this great movement.” (more…)

“The Material Girl is reportedly dating Jon Kortajarena, a 24-year old Spanish model that appears in A Single Man. In that movie, he portrays a hustler Colin Firth’s character meets outside of a liquor store.”

The pair reportedly met at ‘A Single Man’s New York City premiere.

Actress Jessica Alba has been left in an extremely awkward position after hearing of a chinese woman’s goal to undergo several surgeries to look just like her.

Doctors from the Shanghai Time Plastic Surgery Hospital have offered the young woman by the name of Xiaoqing FREE surgeries so she could win back her ex-boyfriend. Apparently the 21 year old’s ex-boyfriend was a huge fan of Alba. Such a huge fan that he would ask Xiaoqing to wear a blonde wig he bought her to resemble the actress more. The couple broke up about a month ago due to his obsession, but now Xiaoqing regrets the ordeal and thinks transforming her self to look like Jessica Alba would be the ultimate way to win him back.

Jessica Alba is urging the woman to not go through with the surgery and has said,”I think you should never change yourself like that. If somebody loves you, they’ll love you no matter what.”

Well said girl. But Xiaoqing says, “If after the plastic surgery, he doesn’t accept me, then I will give up.” How about giving up now?! If he wants you to be someone else, that means he’d rather love someone else.

Saying her nose is like an “Achilles heel” for the title of the most beautiful woman in the universe, different groups have launched campaigns to to make her change her nose.

In a country where beauty pageants are a passion, several media and Internet forums have insisted that the beauty queen retouch her nose to hone her physical image, but she insists that nothing in the world are subjected to an operation.

“I have asked and I understand that I can always improve, but I like the natural. ” said 21-year Barranquilla to Colombian television program El lavadero. “With this nose I won Miss Colombia, so I will be capable of anything.”

Navarro said it would also be an insult to her parents to change her nose.

Damn…these pageants are real!!!
