Grammy Award winning singer Shakira, who is known for her building schools through her organization in Columbia, has been named Ambassador for an international campaign to ensure every child has the right to education.
Dubbed 1GOAL, the campaign calls on country leaders to ensure that all children have access to primary education. 1GOAL is partly a campaign led and co-founded by Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan and supported by FIFA and world football community.
Shakira, who is a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF and founder and President of the Fundación Pies Descalzos, will be speaking for the 72 million children worldwide who lack access to quality education. As a leading advocate of early childhood education, Shakira has persuaded world leaders about the importance of education in various events such as the Iberoamerican Summit and the United Nations.
“World Cup captures the attention and hearts of millions.
